SARVA SIDDHIM ME PRAYACCHA

VAJRA HERUKA MAME MUNCHA

MAHA SAMAYA SATTVA AH HUM PHAT.”

Vajra Heruka Mantra translation in English:

„O great being, whose holy mind is in the indestructible nature of all the Buddhas, having destroyed every obscuration, attained all realizations, and passed beyond all suffering. You who have attained the realization of things just as they are, do not forsake me. Please bring me closer to your vajra holy mind and grant me the ability to realize the ultimate nature of phenomena. Please help me to realize great bliss. Lead me to your state and grant me all powerful attainments. Please bestow upon me all virtuous actions and glorious qualities.”

The one hundred syllable Vajra Heruka mantra comes from the Abhidhana-uttaratantra, a commentary tantra on Cakrasamvara.

Heruka, is the name of a category of wrathful deities, enlightened beings in Vajrayana Buddhism that adopt a fierce countenance to benefit sentient beings. In East Asia, these are called Wisdom Kings. The term, it can also be used to denote a realized tantric practitioner.

The name „Heruka” is made up of the prefix „he-” meaning „hey!” and „ruka”, a rich term implying many levels of subtle meaning – royalty, richness, etc. It is connected to the Sanskrit word „Rc” which is where the name „Rgveda” comes from.

Herukas represent the embodiment of indivisible emptiness and bliss. They appear as meditational deities for tantric sadhana, frequently placed in a mandala and often appearing in Yab-Yum.

The 8 Herukas of the Nyingma tradition are said to have been received by Padmakara from the Eight Vidyadharas: Nagarjuna, Manjushrimitra, Vimalamitra, Vajrahumkara, Dhanasamskrita, Prabhahasti, Guhyachandra and Shintamgarbha.

They were proficient in the practices of:

  1. Yamantaka is the wrathful Manjushri, the deity of body.
  2. Hayagriva is the wrathful Amitabha, the deity of speech.
  3. Vishuddha/Sri Samyak is the wrathful Vajrapani deity of mind.
  4. Vajramrita is the wrathful Samantabhadra, the deity of enlightened qualities.
  5. Vajrakilaya/Vajrakumara is the wrathful Vajrasattva, the deity of purification.
  6. Matarah is the wrathful Akasagarbha, the deity of calling and dispatching.
  7. Lokastotrapuja-natha is the wrathful Ksitigarbha, the deity of worldly offering and praise.
  8. Vajramantrabhiru is the wrathful Maitreya, the deity of wrathful mantras.

“The crucial point is indeed that those who have meditated on the formal description of these Herukakaya, and also made offerings and praise to them, or, at the very least, have simply seen their sculpted and painted images, may recognize the forms that arise here and attain moksha.” – Padmasambhava’s quote.

Prajna Paramita Hrdaya Sutram – The Blissful Heart

The Heart Sutra, also known as Prajna Paramita Hrdaya Sutram in Sanskrit, is a famous sutra in Mahayana Buddhism. Its Sanskrit title, Prajna Paramita Hrdaya Sutram, literally translates as „The Heart of the Perfection of Understanding”.

The Heart Sutra is the most popular, simple, short, easy-to-understand, and easy to chant sutra. The core message is that you can liberate yourself from suffering by being awakened to the true nature of yourself that is beyond perception, form, feelings, will and consciousness.

The text is very short, and it is generally considered to be Buddhist apocrypha written in China using fragments of a translation of the Mahaprajnaparamita Sutra (literally meaning „Large Perfection of Wisdom Sutra”), commonly attributed to Nagarjuna, which is widely considered one of the most important Buddhist philosophers after Shakyamuni Buddha.

Prajna Paramita Hrdaya Sutram – Heart Sutra, translated by the Kuan Um School of Zen:

„Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara, when practicing deeply the Prajna Paramita perceives that all five skandhas are empty and is saved from all suffering and distress.

Shariputra, form does not differ from emptiness, emptiness does not differ from form. That which is form is emptiness, that which is emptiness form.

The same is true of feelings, perceptions, impulses, consciousness.

Shariputra, all dharmas are marked with emptiness; they do not appear or disappear, are not tainted or pure, do not increase or decrease.

Therefore, in emptiness no form, no feelings, impulses, perceptions, consciousness.

No eyes, no ears, no tongue, no nose, no body, no mind; no color, no sound, no smell, no taste, no touch, no object of mind; no realm of eyes and so forth until no realm of mind consciousness.

No ignorance and also no extinction of it, and so forth until no old age and death and also no extinction of them.

No suffering, no origination, no stopping, no path, no cognition, also no attainment with nothing to attain.

The Bodhisattva depends on Prajna Paramita and the mind is no hindrance; without any hindrance no fears exist.

Far apart from every perverted view one dwells in Nirvana.

In the 3 worlds all Buddhas depend on Prajna Paramita and attain Anuttara Samyak Sambodhi.

Therefore know that Prajna Paramita is the great transcendent mantra, is the great bright mantra, is the utmost mantra, is the supreme mantra which is able to relieve all suffering and is true, not false.

So proclaim the Prajna Paramita mantra, proclaim the mantra which says:

Gate gate paragate parasamgate bodhi svaha.”

The Heart Sutra reveals the entire secret of truth of the universe and life. Therefore, you should be open-minded, and think deeply and carefully.

Buddham Saranam Gacchami Mantra – Sacred Chant of Buddha

Buddham Saranam Gacchami lyrics:

„Buddham saranam gacchami
Dhammam saranam gacchami
Sangham saranam gacchami.”

Buddham Saranam Gacchami meaning and translation:

„I go to the Buddha for refuge.
I go to the Dhamma for refuge.
I go to the Sangha for refuge.”

This sacred chant signifies –  „I go for refuge to myself, to my own heart-of-hearts, to my own innate wakefulness and silence and goodness”.

Buddham saranam gacchami – means the supreme intellect within you which leads you with discrimination of right and wrong. Right, that makes your life happy and noble leading one to the state of Bliss. This aspect also expresses all the factors that makes others – the entire animate and inanimate world happy. Live harmoniously and let others live as in the universe every one has every right to lead a spiritual life.

Dhammam saranam gacchami – means always be honorable, so surrender to the righteous behavior and character. Also, dhamma means the righteous behavior of humans. A human must be humane, and should not embrace the characteristic behavior of brutes and animals.

Sangham saranam gacchami – means surrender to the society by involving your life for the good of the society even at the expense your own advantages in your own life. A sacrificing life for the good of the society. Only through sacrifice only ones life becomes „immortal”. Jesus is the good model for this. Would you agree, and there are so many who sacrificed their lives for the betterment and welfare of the society.

These are the 3 great messages given by Gautama Buddha to the human race and which were emulated by the saints and great preachers even before the christian era came into existence.

Taking refuge in the three jewels (Buddha, Dhamma, Sangha) is central to Buddhist lay and monastic ordination ceremonies, as originated by Buddha Gautama, according to the sacred scriptures.

Siddhartha Gautama, who would one day become known as Buddha, also known as the „the awakened” or „enlightened one”, lived in Nepal during the 6th to 4th century B.C.

In the earliest accounts, Buddha achieved enlightenment by gaining the 3 types of knowledge: complete knowledge of all his own past lives, of the karma and rebirths of all others, and the Four Noble Truths. Later accounts explain that, with enlightenment, He achieved omniscience.

„To take refuge in the Buddha is to take refuge in someone who has let go of holding back just as you can do. To take refuge in the dharma is to take refuge in all the teachings that encourage you and nurture your inherent ability to let go of holding back. And to take refuge in the sangha is to take refuge in the community of people who share this longing to let go and open rather than shield themselves.

The support we give each other as practitioners is not the usual samsaric support in which we all join the same team and complain about someone else. It’s more that you’re on your own, completely alone, but it’s helpful to know that there are forty other people who are also going through this all by themselves. That’s very encouraging and supportive. Fundamentally, even though other people can give you support, you do it yourself, and that’s how you grow up in this process, rather than becoming more dependent.” – Pema Chodron’s quote from the book „Start Where You Are”.

Tu Thakur Tum Peh Ardas lyrics in Gurmukhi:

„Tu Thaakur Tum Peh Ardas
Jeeo Pind Sabh Tayree Raas
Thum Maath Pithaa Ham Baarik Thaerae
Tumaree Kirpaa Meh Sukh Ghanayrey
Koe N Jaanay Tumraa Unt
Oochay Tey Oochaa Bhagavant

Translation in English:

„You are our Master; to You, I offer this humble prayer.
This body and soul are all Your Belonging.
You are our mother and father; and we are your children.
In Your Grace, we experience ultimate Peace!
No one knows Your infinite vastness.
O Highest of the High, Most Generous God,
The whole creation is strung on Your thread.
That which has come from You is in Your will.
You alone know Your Existence and Vastness.
Nanak, Your slave, is forever surrendering to you.”

Tu Thakur Tum Peh Ardas meaning:

This chant is found in the Sri Sukhmani Sahib on page 268 of the Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. The Guru Granth Sahib was first compiled by the Fifth Sikh Guru, Arjan Dev, in 1604 in the city of Amritsar.

The word Ardas is derived from the Persian word „Arazdashat”, signifies a request, a prayer, a supplication, a petition or an address to a superior authority. It is a Sikh prayer that is a done before performing or after undertaking any important task; after reciting the daily prayers (Banis); or completion of a service like the Paath, kirtan (hymn-singing) program or any other religious program. In Sikhism, these sacred prayers are also said before and after eating. This soothing prayer is a plea to God to support and help the follower with whatever she or he  is about to undertake or has done.

Unique amongst the world’s major religious scriptures, while compiling the Guru Granth Sahib, the Sikh Gurus incorporated not only their own sacred writings, but also included the writings of other contemporary Saints from Islam and Hinduism (including Saints who belonged to the lowest strata of untouchables in the Hindu Caste System) who denounced superstition and caste and believed in the unity of God.

Within it’s 1430 pages, the hymns (shabads) of the Sri Guru Granth Sahib are arranged in 31 Ragas, the traditional Indian musical measures and scales. Within the 31 Ragas, they are arranged by order of the Sikh Gurus, with the hymns of the Muslim and Hindu Saints following.

The hymns are written in various rhythms and meters, and are organized accordingly. For example, Panch-padi – 5 steps, or Ashtapadi – 8 steps. The Sri Guru Granth Sahib is written in Gurmukhi script, but the hymns were written in many different languages including Sanskrit, Punjabi and Persian.

Har Har Mukanday – Mantra of Liberation

$

Har Har Mukanday mantra translation in English:

„The Infinite Creator liberates me.”

Har Har Mukanday meaning:

  • Har comes for the word Hari, which means God, the creative aspect of infinity (with each Har pull the navel in);
  • Mukanday means liberator, the liberating aspect of the Self.

This mantra liberates one from the anything they have boxed themselves into. It removes fear, and gives you the energy to follow your heart. Concentrate on heart (anahata) chakra while meditating with this mantra.

This chant is a Kundalini Yoga mantra for meditation.

The exact origin of Kundalini Yoga is unknown, but the earliest known mention dates to the sacred Vedic collection of writings known as the Upanishads (c. 1,000 B.C. – 500 B.C.).

„Kundalini” is an ancient Sanskrit word that literally translates as „coiled snake.” In early Eastern religion (long before Hinduism and Buddhism) it was considered that each individual possessed a divine energy at the base of the spine.

This sacred energy was thought to be the energy of creation. This energy is something we are born with, but we must make an effort to „uncoil the snake”, thereby putting us in direct contact with the divine.

Kundalini Yoga is the spiritual practice of awakening our Higher Self and turning potential energy into kinetic energy. Through this practice of Kundalini Yoga this source can be activated and drawn up through the body, energizing our chakras or energy centers.

During this process, resistances and blocks are overcome, and your energy is raised to higher frequencies, opening your awareness to expanded realities.

The goal is to create a conscious connection with the Divine – a union between god-consciousness and physical reality, universal energies and the soul, the infinite and the finite, which can be achieved when this sacred energy reaches the crown (sahasrara) chakra at the top of the head.

Prana Apana Mantra – Magical Healing Mantra

Prana Apana mantra lyrics:

„Prana, Apana, Sushmana Hari, Hari Har, Hari Har, Hari Har Hari.”

Prana is the Sanskrit word for „life force” or vital principle. In Hindu ideology including yoga, martial arts, and Indian medicine, the term indicates collectively to all cosmic energy, permeating the Universe on all levels.

Prana is the universal principle of energy or force. Prana represents the sum of all energy that is manifest in the universe, all the forces in nature and powers which are hidden in humans and which lie everywhere around us.

Prana includes energies present in inanimate objects. In the literature, prana is occasionally described as originating from the Sun and connecting the elements of the Universe.

This life energy has been frequently described and invoked in the ancient Upanishads and Vedas.

Furthermore, prana is the link between the physical and astral body. When the slender thread-link of prana is cut, the astral body separates from the physical body. Death takes place. The prana that was working in the physical body is withdrawn into the astral body.

Prana is generally divided into multiple constituent parts, in particular when concerned with the human body. While not all early writings agree on the names or number of these subdivisions, the most frequent list from the Upanishads, the Mahabharata, Ayurvedic and Yogic sources includes 5, often divided into further subcategories.

This list includes:

  • Vyana (circulation of energy);
  • Prana (inward moving energy);
  • Apana (outward moving energy);
  • Udana (energy of the head and throat);
  • Amana (digestion and assimilation).

Color of the pranas:

There are 7 single-colored pranas: orange, red, yellow, blue, violet, electric violet and green. There are also dual-colored pranas that combine 2 colors for a precise powerful effect – for example, green-blue prana.

Each color of prana has a specific rate of vibration and a grade of refinement, both of which are determined by the size of the particles that make up the prana.

The vibration rate and grade of refinement, in turn, determine the prana’s healing application. In general, low-vibration pranas are used for heavy-duty healing such as repairing broken bones and torn tissues, while high-vibration pranas are used for more sensitive healing efforts, like energizing nerve tissue.

Hey Gobind Hey Gopal Bhajan – Mantra to Remove All Problems

Hey Gobind Hey Gopal lyrics in Gurmukhi:

„Hey Gobind Hey Gopal, Hey Dya Needhan,
Paran Naath Anath Sake, Deen Darad Niihal,
Hey Samarath Agamye Puran, Moh Maya Dhar,
Aand Kup Maha Bhayan, Nanak Par Uttar.”

Hey Gobind Hey Gopal translation in English:

„O Lord of the Universe, O Lord of the World, O Dear Merciful Beloved. You are the Master of the breath of life, the Companion of the lost and forsaken, the Destroyer of the pains of the poor. O All-powerful, Inaccessible, Perfect Lord, please shower me with Your Mercy. Please, carry Nanak across the terrible, deep dark pit of the world to the other side.”

This is an amazing bhajan, chanted by Dilpreet Bhatia in devotion to Lord Krishna. Krishna is the most trustworthy source of wisdom and knowledge. The whole guru-parampara – the disciplic succession – starts with Him because He is the original preceptor.

This chant is composed by Guru Arjun Dev ji, and it is found in the Guru Granth Sahib, page 1273.

Guru Arjan (5 April 1563 – 30 May 1606) was the first martyr of the Sikh faith and the 5th of the 10 Sikh Gurus, who compiled sacred writings to create the 11th, the living Guru, Guru Granth Sahib. Guru Arjan was born in Goindval Punjab India, the youngest son of Guru Ram Das (the fourth of the Ten Gurus of Sikhism) and Bibi Bhani, the daughter of Guru Amar Das.

The greatest contribution Guru Arjan made to the Sikh faith was to compile all of the past Gurus’ holy writings, along with selected writings of other saints from various backgrounds which he considered consistent with the teachings of Sikhism into one book, now the sacred Sikh scripture: the Guru Granth Sahib. It is, perhaps, the only scripture which still exists in the form first published (a hand-written manuscript) by the Guru.

More than half of the Guru Granth Sahib is constituted of his own holy renderings. The Granth Sahib is not only an compilation of the revelations but also it throws considerable light on the contemporary social and political life; spiritual awareness and the physical being are fused into one.

Among his other equally important realizations are the creation of new cities at Tarn Taran, the construction of the Baoli at Lahore and Kartarpur with its magnanimous Tank of Salvation.

„Those blessed with the karma of good actions praise the Lord. O Nanak, they make the Guru their spiritual teacher. In the 4th watch of the early morning hours, a longing arises in their higher consciousness. They are attuned to the river of life; the True Name is in their minds and on their lips.” – Guru Arjan’s quote.

Guru Brahma Guru Vishnu Mantra Lyrics

Guru Brahma Guru Vishnu mantra complete lyrics:

„Guru Brahma, Guru Vishnu, Guru devo Maheshwara,
Guru sakshat, param Brahma, tasmai shri guravay namah.”

Guru Brahma Guru Vishnu mantra translation in English:

„The guru is the creator, the guru is the preserver, and the guru is the destroyer. The guru is the absolute. I bow before you.”

This mantra is a Sanskrit spiritual chant, chanted in praise of the Trimurti, that is, Lord Brahma, Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva.

The cosmic functions of creation, maintenance and destruction are personified by these 3 forms – Brahma (the Creator), Vishnu (the Preserver or Maintainer) and Shiva (the Transformer or Destroyer). These 3 personae are thought to represent different modalities of the one supreme divinity. In this manner, the Trimurti is similar to some interpretations of the Christian Trinity such as Sabellianism.

The concept of a divine triad is rooted in the earliest Hindu beliefs, which were largely fashioned by man’s reaction to nature: fear and reverence, for there was no means of controlling it. As a result, he personified natural phenomena and worshiped them.

The earliest triad comprised of Mitra, Varuna and Aryaman, representing the basic aspects of nature like the night and day, sky and earth. As new concepts replaced older ones, this Triad gave way to another, of Agni, Vayu and Surya. Later Indra replaced Vayu as a member of this highest order.

The specific Hindu gods that combined to make the Trimurti (Vishnu, Brahma and Shiva) each have their own origins in Hindu mythology, folklore and scripture. Nevertheless, how they came together in a single iconographic representation is still a source of scholarly interest.

Iconographic representations of the Trimurti first appear around the latter half of the first millennium of the common era. For example, the illustrious image of the Trimurti statue found on Elephanta island (near Mumbai, India) was carved during the 8th to 10th century. This sculpture has been attributed the imperial Rashtrakutas of Manyakheta (in present times Karnataka), who ruled the southern and the central parts of India this time period, and used the image of the 3 Gods as their insignia. In this particular image, Lord Shiva is depicted as manifesting all 3 aspects of the Godhead.

Researchers consider the doctrine of the trimurti to be an attempt to reconcile different approaches to the divine with each other and with the philosophical doctrine of ultimate reality (brahman).

Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare
Hare Krishna Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna Hare Hare
Hare Krishna Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna Hare Hare
Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare.

Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare mantra meaning:

Chant the names of Lord Rama and Lord Krishna. By reciting the above mantra, the Lord destroys evil and grants protection.

Though Lord Rama and Lord Krishna were essentially the same, since they came from Mahavishnu Himself (an aspect of Lord Vishnu, the Absolute which is beyond all attributes and is beyond human comprehension), we can still see a lot of difference in their characters and personality.

Both the avatars manifested as human beings on Earth and came with an undoubtful purpose. Once that purpose was served, They left the mundane world as we know it.

The main aim of the Lord Rama was to destroy Ravana, the demon king, described as having 10 heads. The story of Lord Rama inspires awe and devotion in the Indian subcontinent.

The word „Rama” or „Ram” is very frequently used among Indians. „Ram Ram” is a greeting used commonly in North India. The phrase, „Ram Nam Satya Hai” (Ram is the ultimate truth) is recited by a procession carrying a dead man on his last journey. „Hey Ram”was the famous expression uttered by Mahatma Gandhi before he was assassinated by Nathuram Godse. Such is the devotion and respect shown towards this Hindu deity.

The principal purpose of Lord Krishna was to convey the supreme message of the Bhagavad Gita, to vanquish evil and bring back righteousness and justice to humankind. Lord Krishna, the 9th avatar of Lord Vishnu, is as popular, if not more, than Lord Rama.

While the word Sanskrit „Rama” is used more than „Krishna”, there are many more Krishna religious sects and temples in India. Lord Krishna is worshiped and adored as a major deity among the followers of Lord Vishnu (Vaishnavites).

Vishnu is viewed as the Supreme One by the Gaudiya Vaishnava sect. Lord Krishna’s stories are entertaining and span His whole life, right from infancy to adulthood.

All these tales, however, contain a deep, spiritual inner meaning.

Pibare Ramarasam translation in English:

Drink the essence of the name of Rama, o tongue.

It will help you (implied) remove or be distant from association with sin or be distant from those who cause you to sin and you will be fulfilled with many types and kinds of rewards.

It will help you be far removed from the grief of the cycle of birth and death, it is the essence of all the religious treatises, the Vedas and sciences.

It protects all creation. Brahma was born of a lotus from a golden egg and then he created the whole universe. So this phrase implies that reciting Rama’s name protects the whole universe. It will purify even the most impious or heretic.

It is the pure song that signature of the poet has taken refuge in, it is the same which has been drunk by sages like Suka Saunaka and Kausika.

More information:

This is a classical song composed by Sadasiva Brahmendra. This song is commonly rendered in raga Ahir Bhairav of Indian classical music.

Sadasiva Brahmendra was a saint, a composer of Carnatic music and an Advaita philosopher who lived near Kumbakonam, Tamil Nadu during the 18th century. Sadasiva Brahmendra composed primarily in Sanskrit. Only a few of his compositions have survived but they are recognized as great compositions of Carnatic Music.

He was responsible for installing the deity Punnainallur Mariamman near Thanjavur and guided the installation at Devadanapatti Kamakshi temple. Sadasiva Brahmendra was also involved in the Kalyana Venkatesa Perumal temple at Karur. In addition, he also installed the Hanuman Murthi in the Prasanna Venkateswara temple at Nalu Kal Mandapam in Thanjavur.

Sadasiva Brahmendra installed Lord Ganesh and a powerful Ganesh Yantra at the Thirunageshwaram Rahu Stalam tmple at Kumbakonam. An inscription in the temple bears testimony to this fact. The shrine can still be seen at the entrance to the temple.

Hare Rama Hare Krishna Maha Mantra lyrics in Sanskrit:

„Hare Krishna Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna Hare Hare
Hare Rama Hare Rama, Rama Rama Hare Hare.”

Meaning:

„O energy of the Lord, O all-attractive Lord, O Supreme Enjoyer, please engage me in Your service.”

Symbolizing as well as paying homage to the pulsating, omnipotent, all-pervasive supreme consciousness dwelling in each and every particle of the universe and beyond, this potent mantra, endearingly and commonly called the maha mantra is a fantastic way to connect to our inner divinity. Lifting us up from the realm of mere sensual gratification, this mantra rejuvenates and energizes, charging us with its potent vibrations.

This mantra is first attested in the Kali Santarana Upanishad, a Vaishnava Upanishad linked with the Krishna Yajurveda. This chant is known as the maha mantra of Kailyug (the present era, where righteousness and truth are at their lowest level). It has been said that by repeating this mantra with faith and devotion, one can attain peace of mind and salvation.

The mantra was popularized by Chaitanya Mahaprabhu (a Bengali spiritual teacher) roughly around 1500 CE when he began his mission to spread this powerful mantra publicly to „every town and village” in the world, travelling throughout India, and particularly within the areas of Odisha and Bengal. Different versions of the Kali Santarana Upanishad give the mantra with Hare Rama preceding Hare Krishna, and others with Hare Krishna preceding Hare Rama, as in Navadvipa version of the manuscript. The latter format is by far the more usual within the Vaishnava traditions. It is a general belief that the maha mantra is equally potent when spoken in either order.

The 3 words, namely Hara, Krishna, and Rama, are transcendental seeds of the mantra, and the reciting is a spiritual call for the Lord and His internal healing energy Hara for giving protect the conditioned soul.

The word „Hare” can be interpreted as either the vocative form of Hari, another name of Lord Vishnu meaning „He who removes illusion”. Another interpretation is as the vocative of Hara, a name of Radha (a Hindu goddess).

Rama and Krishna refer to Supreme Personality of Godhead the Divine Absolute God Himself, meaning „He who is the Source of All Pleasure” and „He who is All-Attractive”.

Chanting Hare Rama Hare Krishna maha mantra benefits:

It is the most effective means of self-realization in the present Age of Quarrel. Nothing else works nearly as well. Also, chanting this mantra frees you from the reactions of all past  karma, and gets you out of the endless cycle of birth and death.

Furthermore, this mantra can be recited by anyone. It is for people of all all nations, religions, all colors, and both sexes. There’s no need to pay any fees, join any group, or turn your life around. It only requires your time and effort. In addition, the people who chant the mantra are developing good character, gaining knowledge of both the spiritual and material worlds, and helping others to also become free from material anxiety.

You can chant this mantra anywhere and at any time, but it is best to set a specific time of the day to constantly chant. Early morning hours are ideal.

The founder of the Hare Krishna movement, Srila Prabhupada, explains that:

„We have practical experience that any person who is reciting the holy names of Krishna in due course of time feels some transcendental pleasure and very quickly becomes purified of all material contamination.”

Rama Kodanda Rama – Sai Baba Bhajans lyrics in Sanskrit:

„Rama Kodanda Rama Rama Pattabhi Rama
Rama Kalyana Rama Raghava
Rama Nidokka Mata Rama Nakokka Muta
Rama Ni Pate Pata Rama Ni Bate Bata
Rama Nikevaru Jodu Rama Nikanta Judu
Rama Nenu Nivadu Rama Nato Matadu
Rama Namame Melu, Svami Chintane Chalu
Svami Namame Melu, Rama Chintane Chalu
Ni Chintane Chalu, Ni Namame Melu
Rama Namame Melu, Rama Chintane Chalu.”

Translation in English:

„Only Rama’s name is beneficial, thought of Swami is itself enough
Only Svami’s name is beneficial, thought of Rama is itself enough
Your thought is itself enough, only Your name is beneficial
Only Rama’s name is beneficial, thought of Rama is itself enough.”

This bhajan has been composed by Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, an Indian guru and philanthropist.

He claimed to be the reincarnation of Sai Baba of Shirdi.

Sathya Sai Baba was born as Sathyanarayana Raju as the 8th child in a poor family in the village of Puttaparthi, Andhra pradesh, India on the 23rd of November 1926.

His early life was one that was filled with miracles and experiences galore. As a child, he was described as charitable and „unusually intelligent”, though not necessarily academically inclined, as his interests were of a more spiritual nature.

Sai Baba says that the summation of all the scriptures is contained in the phrases – „Help ever, Hurt never” and „Love All, Serve All”. And so, Sai Baba exhorts one and all to serve for service to man is service to God.

The Sathya Sai Organisation, founded by Sathya Sai Baba „to enable its members to undertake service activities as a means to spiritual advancement”, has over 1,200 Sathya Sai Centers in 126 countries.

Through this organisation, Sai Baba established a network of free clinics, hospitals, drinking water projects, ashrams, auditoriums and schools.

In the 86 years on earth, what Sai Baba has achieved is monumental to say the least, Divine to say the Truth.

On 29 March 2011, He was listed on the Watkins 100 Spiritual Power list.

„There is only one religion, the religion of Love;
There is only one language, the language of the Heart;
There is only one caste, the caste of Humanity;
There is only one law, the law of Karma;
There is only one God, He is Omnipresent.” – Sri Sathya Sai Baba

Govinda Jaya Jaya
Gopala jaya jaya
Radha-ramana Hari
Govinda jaya jaya.

Govinda Jaya Jaya mantra translation in English:

Govinda, Victory, Victory
Gopala, Victory, Victory
Radha Ramana, Victory, Victory
Govinda, Victory, Victory.

More information:

This mantra is an Indian devotional chant or song often sung in the Krishna Consciousness movement founded by A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, by different other schools of yoga, and by Hindus in general.

In Sanskrit, „Govinda” is one of the many names given to Lord Krishna. It is a joint name from 2 words: gov (cows) and indam (god).

When Lord Krishna lifted the Govardhan hill to defend the cows, milkmaids,  cowherds and denizens of Vrindavan from the wrath of Indra. Indra realized his mistake and accepted him as the Supreme Power.

At the same time, when Indra asked for the forgiveness for his audacity from Lord Krishna, the queen of the Cows, Surabhi showered the rain of milk on Lord Krishna to show her gratitude and called him with the name of „Govinda”, meaning „lord of the cows.”

The child form of Lord Krishna also known as Bala Gopala (child Gopala) is worshiped across India.

Lord Krishna is a name of the original, unique Supreme Person, the source of all that exists.

The name Krishna, indicates the unequaled beauty and charm of the Supreme Person, as He appears to His most dear devotees.

People consider Krishna their protector, leader, hero, philosopher, spiritual teacher and friend all rolled into one. Lord Krishna has influenced the Indian thought, culture and life in myriad ways.

He has influenced not only its philosophy and religion, but also into its literature and mysticism, sculpture and painting, music and dance, and all aspects of Indian folklore.

„Those who eat too much or eat too little, who sleep too much or sleep too little, will not succeed in meditation. But those who are temperate in eating and sleeping, work and recreation, will come to the end of sorrow through meditation.” – Krishna

White Dzambhala (or Jambhala) Mantra

White Dzambhala (or Jambhala) mantra lyrics:

„Om Padma Krodha Arya Jambhala Hridaya Hum Phat.”

The White Jambhala is said to be the manifestation of Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara (a Bodhisattva who embodies the compassion of all Buddhas).

He can remove the suffering of sickness and poverty, purify non-virtuous karma and karmic obstacles, avert sickness and disaster, and evolve the enlightenment-mind – Bodhicitta (His spiritual energy in the form of sound, helps to transform the mind).

Bodhicitta is a spontaneous wish to attain enlightenment motivated by great compassion for all sentient beings, accompanied by a falling away of the attachment to the illusion of an inherently existing self.

He is wrathful in appearance he is adorned with jewel ornaments and silks. He sits on a snow lion and holds a mongoose (which in ancient India stood as an omen of good things to come) in his left hand that spits out precious gems for the poor and needy to collect.

He holds a fruit in his right hand to signify that if we follow his practice, we can bear the fruits of our efforts to gain spiritual enlightenment and attainments. He is said to be able to stop suffering and to dispel negative karma. Reciting this mantra can also bring wealth, abundance, avert disaster, and give you good health.

This practice encourages good fortune for the sangha as well as all individual Dharma practitioners, in order to accomplish greater generosity and all virtuous aims. In addition, He helps dharma practioners to have a stable life and be free from worries while practicing dharma.

„The purpose of practicing Dzambhala is to receive everything required to practice Dharma; to benefit all other sentient beings greatly by relieving their poverty, liberating them from suffering, giving them whatever they need to practice Dharma.” – quote by Lama Zopa Rinpoche

The best way to request help from the White Dzambhala is by making continuous water offerings to Him.

If possible, do also try to simultaneously chant the mantra, and then the practice will be extremely powerful. Also, keeping an image or statue of Him, or giving a Jambhala statue away as a gift is beneficial to anyone, anywhere.

Lama Tsongkhapa mantra lyrics:

„Mig-me tze-wai ter-chen Chen-re-zig
Dri-me kyen-pai wang-po Jam-pel-yang
Dü-pung ma-lü jom-dze Sang-wai dag
Gang-chen kay-pai tzug-gyan Tsong-Khapa
Lo-zang Drag-pai zhab-la sol-wa deb.”

Lama Tsongkhapa mantra – Migtsema translation in English:

„Je Tsongkhapa, crown jewel of the holy Masters of the land of snows,
You are Avalokiteshvara, great goldmine of Compassion untainted by ego’s delusion.
You are Manjushri, great Master of stainless wisdom.
You are Vajrapani, great subduer of all the gatherings of demons.
At your feet, famed Lobsang Drakpa,
I humbly bow and earnestly request that all sentient beings achieve Enlightenment.”

More information:

Je Tsongkhapa, also kniown as „Je Rinpoche”, was one of the greatest Buddhist teachers and meditators to ever live. Je Tsongkhapa embodies the Bodhisattvas of compassion (Kuan Yin or Avalokiteshvara), wisdom (Manjushri) and power (Vajrapani). His appearance in Tibet had been predicted by Gautama Buddha himself.

When he was born, a drop of his mother’s blood fell to the ground, and later a white sandal tree with a hundred thousand leaves grew at that spot.

He showed a perfect example of how to build the foundation for the spiritual path, how to progress on that path, and how to complete it.

In his two main treatises, the Lamrim Chenmo (considered one of his greatest works and is widely studied today, by both ordained sangha and laypeople all over the world) and Ngakrim Chenmo, Je Rinpoche meticulously sets forth this graduated way and how one establishes oneself in the paths of tantra and sutra.

„If one keeps even a drop of the nectar of the name of this holy being Tsongkhapa in a devotional heart, it plants the seed of liberation and one receives the fortune to practice and enjoy happiness from this life up to enlightenment.” – quote by Pabongkha Rinpoche

Despite his high attainments and enlightened qualities, he never exhibited any public display of miraculous powers, such as clairvoyance, and expressly prohibited his disciples from doing so.

The annual Tibetan prayer festival Monlam Prayer Festival was established by Lama Tsongkhapa. There he offered service to ten thousand monks. The establishment of the Great Prayer Festival is seen as one of his Four Great Deeds. It celebrates the miraculous deeds of Shakyamuni Buddha.

This mantra is also known as Migtsema. It was originally composed by Je Tsongkhapa, in honor of his main spiritual teacher, Rendawa Shyonnu Lodro. Rendawa replied it was more applicable to Je Rinpoche than to himself, and adapted it into the prayer we know today. Some teachers say that the Migstema mantra is so very potent because it combines the great Buddhist mantras of Avalokitesvara, Manjushri and Vajrapani.

Strictly speaking, this chant is not always considered to be a true and recognized mantra. It is however a chant and a phrase that is used in the same way as one would use a mantra; which gives it the unique power of a mantra.

Moreover, this Pali phrase has taken on the status of a mantra and many Buddhists chant it repeatedly in its original Pali.

Chanting Sabbe Satta Sukhi Hontu (May All Beings Be Happy) benefits:

This chant can help us to transform our habituated mental patterns that are infused with negativity into mental patterns that are much more embracing of the practices of Buddhism as a whole.

Use the mantra after an interaction with a particularly challenging co-worker, use it after a difficult argument with a family member or a friend, or simply recite it as a means of helping you to break down those mental barriers so that you can think only loving kindness towards each and every person that you interact with on a daily basis.

When chanting this mantra it is good to focus your attention on your heart and also imagine that your heart is sending out beams of light to those around us. The entire purpose of this chant is to share love. It is a beautiful way to spread the love.

Sabka Mangal Hoye Re  – Vipassana Metta Chant lyrics:

„Sabaka mangala sabaka mangala sabaka mangala hoya re

Jala ke thala ke aur gagana ke jala ke thala ke aur gagane ke

Dasoh dishao ke saba prani dasoh dishao ke saba prani
Mangala labhi hoya re
Nirbhaya hoy nirbaira banned sabh – sabh nirapad hoya re.”

Sabka Mangal Hoye Re – Vipassana Metta Chant translation in English:

„May I be happy and blessed with goodness all the time
May you be happy and blessed with goodness all the time
Beings living on the earth, in the water and in the air, may all be happy and without pain
Creatures living in all 10 directions, may they meet goodness everywhere
May all be without fear and without ill-will, may all be without torment.”

More information:

It is a chant of loving-kindness, and serves as a signal to conclude the meditation session, during the 10 day silent vipassana meditation retreats.

Vipassana in the Buddhist tradition means insight into the true nature of reality, namely as the Three marks of existence: suffering,  impermanence or unsatisfactoriness, and the realization of non-self. Presectarian Buddhism accentuated the practice of dhyana (profound meditation), but early in the history of Buddhism Vipassana gained a prominent place in the teachings.

Vipassana is a way of self-transformation through self-observation.

It focuses on the profound link between body and mind, which can be experienced directly by disciplined attention to the physical sensations that form the life of the body, and that continuously interconnect and condition the life of the mind.

It is this observation-based, self-exploratory journey to the common root of mind and body that dissolves mental impurity, resulting in a balanced mind full of compassion and love.

„The observation of the physical sensations without reaction during Vipassana meditation produces a phenomenal effect.

It causes the old stored-up past conditionings such as anger, passion, hatred, ill-will, etc. to come to the surface of the mind and manifest as sensations. Observation of these sensations without any reaction causes them to pass away, layer after layer. Your mind is then free of many of these old conditionings and can deal with experiences in the life without the color of past experiences.” – quote by S. N. Goenka
