Sita Ram mantra complete lyrics:

”Shri Ram Jai Ram Jai Jai Ram
Sita Ram.” (x2)

Mantra meaning:

“I offer my reverence to Lord Rama’s beloved Sita, the source of the world’s creation, maintenance and destruction, the remover of all miseries and the bringer of all auspiciousness.”

Description:

This is a Sanskrit mantra about devotion and to open our hearts.

Sita is the God who’s the perfect symbol of loyalty and devotion. She is one of the main characters in ”The Ramayana,” a sacred Indian epic poem. She was the elder sister of Urmila and cousins Shrutakirti and Mandavi. Her entire life constitutes an example of idealism.

The Exile of Sita

She leaves the palace amenities and charms in order to stay in exile with Her husband. During the period of exile, Goddess Sita was abducted by the demon-king Ravana (he is described as extremely powerful and has 10 heads) and imprisoned for months, in Lanka.

When the Goddess got freed from the clutches of demon-king Ravana, Sita proved her sanctity to Lord Rama by giving Agni – Pariksha (Fire Ordeal). She is considered as the role model of wifely love and adherence to duty.

Moreover, Sita is acknowledged to be an avatar of Goddess Lakshmi, Lord Vishnu’s consort, who chose to reincarnate herself on Earth to provide humankind with a paradigmatic example of good virtue.

Goddess Sita symbolizes the energy of the root (Muladhara) chakra that provides grounding and calms the mind. The color red is associated with this energy center. Red is also the color of blood and because of this, historically it was linked with courage, danger, and sacrifice.

Lord Rama is one of the many deities in Hinduism and particularly of the different Vaishnava sects. He is the infinite, that embodies consciousness and truth.

The name Rama appears repeatedly in ancient Hindu scriptures. Besides the name of the protagonist of the Ramayana, the name is also given to other heroes including Bala-Rama and Parashu-Rama (Bhargava Rama).

The benefits of mantra practice

Repetition of the Sanskrit mantras creates a psychological or mental response that is very deep and beyond the realm of expression or words. It can only be experienced.

The pronunciation of mantras is very important. Ideally, one learns the correct pronunciation from a spiritual teacher, who can also recommend a precise mantra for you.
